A recent article talks about a GAO probe into a little incident of corruption in New Orleans.
First, "when the Army Corps of Engineers solicited bids for drainage pumps for New Orleans, it copied the specifications 'typos and all' from the catalog of the manufacturer that ultimately won the $32 million contract"
Second, the pumps were installed before the 2006 hurricane season, and turned out to be defective.
Third, Jeb Bush used to work for the company in question, and they are major Republican donors.
Thank God there was no major hurricane last year. But can you honestly trust these people? Even when it comes to protecting people, corruption comes first (actually, Halliburton blazed the trail on that one..)
